Counseling Methodologies

In my counseling practice, I approach the creation of positive change from three main perspectives:

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and Families (EFT/EFFT)…

…as developed by Susan Johnson and Les Greenberg, works to build strong and healthy relationships by helping couples and families navigate around negative patterns that create distance, resentment, and destruction of trust. Couples and families are guided to recognize and eventually express their need for love, support, protection, and comfort that may have been hidden or disguised by these repetitive negative patterns.

Eye Movement Desensitization/Reprocessing (EMDR)…

…is used to overcome the negative impact of past and present hurts and trauma (that can be a barrier to strong, healthy relationship) . This extensively researched and accepted psychotherapy enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences .
